Zhangjiajie Forest Park: 4-Day Tickets and Re-Entry

Your park ticket covers four consecutive calendar days starting on your booked first visit date. Reserve your gate and entry time for each return. Save money by matching your mountain transport passes to your route. Start with the CNY 236 (≈ USD 35 ) admission and shuttle bus ticket. Buy single lift or cable car rides for a highlights circuit, pick the CNY 238 (≈ USD 36 ) four-ride mountain pass when your route uses four one-way mountain rides, or take the full CNY 530 (≈ USD 79 ) pass if you plan five or more rides across your stay.

Choose tickets for your route

For a one-day visit to Yuanjiajie and Tianzi Mountain, buy park admission with shuttle buses (CNY 236 (≈ USD 35 )), then pay for Bailong Elevator going up (CNY 65 (≈ USD 9.7 )) and Tianzi Cableway coming down (CNY 72 (≈ USD 11 )). Your total is CNY 373 (≈ USD 56 ) per adult before optional insurance.

For a two-day trip that also includes a round trip on the Huangshizhai Cableway, you need four mountain journeys. Standard park admission plus the four-ride pass costs CNY 474 (≈ USD 71 ) per adult. Buying those four rides separately would cost CNY 503 (≈ USD 75 ).

Choose the CNY 530 (≈ USD 79 ) full pass if you plan five or more mountain journeys across your four days. It covers park entry, shuttle buses, and unlimited rides on all four main lifts and cable cars. This works well for photographers returning to the peaks across multiple days or travelers who prefer to ride rather than hike steep stairs.

What each ticket includes

The standard ticket covers the main Wulingyuan scenic area: Yuanjiajie, Tianzi Mountain, Yangjiajie, Huangshizhai, and Golden Whip Stream. Tianmen Mountain and the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge are separate attractions with their own tickets.

• Tianmen Mountain tickets and routes: pick the route operating on your date and its entry slot.
• Grand Canyon and Glass Bridge tickets: choose between the combined Glass Bridge with canyon route or the canyon trail only.

The transport group called 三索一梯 includes Tianzi Cableway (天子山索道), Yangjiajie Cableway (杨家界索道), Huangshizhai Cableway (黄石寨索道), and Bailong Elevator (百龙天梯). A round trip counts as two one-way rides. The four-ride pass allows four total journeys across these four options combined, not four rides on each individual lift.

Individual adult one-way fares are CNY 72 (≈ USD 11 ) for Tianzi, CNY 76 (≈ USD 11 ) for Yangjiajie, and CNY 65 (≈ USD 9.7 ) each for Huangshizhai and Bailong. The Ten-Mile Gallery sightseeing mini-train is a separate paid ride. The included shuttle buses connect the valley and mountain-top trailheads, but they do not travel up and down the cliffs between the valleys and the plateaus.

Prices listed exclude the optional CNY 3 (≈ USD 0.45 ) travel insurance. An admission and shuttle quote of CNY 239 (≈ USD 36 ) includes this insurance fee.

Choose the first day and reserve each entry

Your ticket is valid for four consecutive calendar days starting on your booked first visit date. For example, a ticket starting on October 10 remains valid through October 13. A rest day still counts toward your four days. You must make your first entry on the booked start date.

Pick your entrance gate and time slot when purchasing your ticket. Every return visit needs a new gate and time reservation, even when returning later on the same day. You do not pay for park admission again during your four days. A successful purchase in the official mini-program also completes your first entry reservation.

Pick the gate closest to your hotel and daily route. The East Gate is 吴家峪门票站 (Wujiayu) in Wulingyuan town. The South Gate is 森林公园门票站 (Luoguta). The other options are West Gate (杨家界门票站 / Yangjiajie), North Gate (天子山门票站), and Central Gate (梓木岗门票站 / Zimugang). You must enter through the specific gate listed on your reservation.

Book using your passport

The park uses real-name tickets. Book with the US passport you will carry to the gate.

The official booking channel is the WeChat mini-program 张家界旅游小助手. Pick the national forest park, your visit date, starting gate, arrival time slot, and ticket type. Enter your passport number and full name as printed on your passport photo page, then pay.

The park also sells tickets and makes reservations at its gate ticket offices. This is handy if you do not use WeChat Pay or want to buy concession tickets that require document inspection. Bring your physical passport.

When booking through a travel platform, confirm whether the option covers admission, shuttle buses, or mountain lifts. You can check dated options directly on the Klook forest-park booking page.

The person paying does not have to be the visitor entering the park. When booking for family or friends, add each person with their matching name and passport number.

On Chinese booking forms, 证件类型 means document type. Choose 护照, Passport, or Foreign passport. In the 证件号码 field, enter your passport number. In the 姓名 field, enter your full name exactly as shown on your passport.

After payment, keep your confirmed booking status, visitor details, and order number. If ticket collection asks for a 景区订单号 (scenic area order number), save that number with your passport.

Enter the park and use your remaining rides

Bring the physical passport used for booking and your order confirmation. Go through facial verification and identity checks at the gate during your reserved time slot.

To reserve a return visit using the mini-program, tap 门票改签、预约 (ticket changes and reservations), then select 再次入园预约 (repeat entry). Pick your next gate and time slot under your active ticket. Ticket office staff can also book this slot using your passport. Mountain transport tickets link to your passport: scan uphill tickets at the bottom station and downhill tickets at the top station.

Keep track of your four-ride balance. One trip up Bailong Elevator and one trip down Tianzi Cableway uses two rides, leaving two rides for another day. All rides must be used within the four-day ticket window.

Changes and refunds

Open your original booking order to correct a name or passport number. Contact support with your order number and correct passport details. The seller will edit the unused order or guide you through rebooking.

At a park ticket window, show these phrases on your phone if you need help:

• 我用护照预订了门票。 (I booked a ticket with my passport.)
• 订单上的护照号码填错了。 (The passport number in my order is wrong.)

Changing your entry gate or time slot is free if the new slot has open capacity. Update it through your booking channel. If you need to change your starting visit date, adjust the ticket with your seller before using any entries.

Apply for refunds through the channel that sold the ticket. For a mini-program purchase, open 我的订单 (My orders). If you bought transport separately, cancel that transport before cancelling park admission, as the ticket system checks this order.

The four-ride pass cannot be refunded once you use any of the rides. Unused individual rides on a multi-ride pass cannot be redeemed for cash.

Practical tips and concessions

Admission is free for children under 14 and adults aged 65 or above. Ages 14 to 17 and 60 to 64 receive reduced admission. Park shuttles and mountain transport are free for children under 14, while adults aged 60 or above receive reduced transport fares. Qualifying undergraduate students can also buy reduced tickets with valid student ID. Bring original ID documents to the ticket office for inspection.
